Depressed about being the only one of your friends without a colorful nautical star tattoo adorning your bicep? Searching for a tattoo that can both fit in the small of your back and express your innermost beliefs and ideologies, but the task has proven to be more daunting than it initially seemed?

The solution to these problems—along with some seriously jaw-dropping body art—can be found this weekend at the Pomona Tattoo and Body Art Convention. That strange, constant humming you’ll hear? That’s the sound of toughness.

The expo will feature over 300 artists from around the world converging on Pomona to serve all of your socially deviant body modification needs under one roof. There’ll be live bands, a “nice-ass” contest, and beer to help ease the pain of permanently marring your flesh with a needle.

Exhibitionists can enter one of 18 tattoo contests, with categories fitting everything from small, black and gray pieces to gigantic full color ones.

The expo is a good place for newbies to get their feet wet and look at millions of tattoo ideas, as well as for veterans to collect new pieces and show off battle-tested favorites. (Phil Fuller)
