Did you say buzz? If you’ve got a hankering for that elated feeling (the one that makes the sun shine brighter and the birds chirp merrier), join the thousands of like-minded carousers this weekend in picture-perfect Lake Elsinore. The Rotary Club’s Annual Art and Wine Festival allows IE’s own Napa Valley its day in the sun—an occasion where you can romp and chat with family and have an honorable excuse to knock down a couple of bottles; your vices will benefit a noble cause, as all Rotary Club monies go to support programs that benefit children throughout the world.

It’s no upper-crust cork sniffing for connoisseurs—instead, be prepared for a shindig that’ll jump-start the palates of yuppie sophisticates while also appealing to the Friday night frat-pack guzzlers. Headlining this year’s festival is a smorgasbord of world-class wineries, local mom-and-pop vintners, funky and traditional artisans, live entertainment, and, of course, food tasting along Restaurant Row (featuring molto delicioso Italian classics and sweet barbecue).

Also included in the festivities is a dedicated area of specialty ales for beer-swillers (courtesy of Saddleback Brewery), and Jones Soda will be dishing out bottles of pop for two bucks each. There’s also plenty to do, from all-day horseshoe tossing to kiddie crafts to keep your interest as you amble from tent to tent, serenaded by the jazzy rhythms of Vegas.  (Nancy Powell)
