Redland’s Red Wine and Blues, Saturday, January 26
Wine-tasting anyone? Yep, it’s time again for the Red Wine and Blue’s Festival, Redland’s biggest and most vivacious party of the year. All proceeds from this year’s event kindly go towards the Rotary Club’s scholarship fund for local high school students. Over 40 vendors representing California’s best from Sonoma, Napa, and nearby Temecula will be on hand for the festivities, accompanied by preparations from the area’s fine dining establishments like Martha Green’s funkadelic Eating Room, Loma Linda’s kitschy Tex Mex sensation, the Kool Kactus Café, and the carnivorous paradise of the Mill Creek Cattle Company. Sponsors will be auctioning off golfing passes, sports tickets (Lakers, Clippers and Dodgers), Magic Mountain passes, and a spa package to all those lucky bidders with extra dough to spare. Worth the price of admission alone is an evening spent with the likes of cool cat and Jessica Simpson’s ex, John Mayer, whose soulful delivery of the blues comes off like Shakespeare and makes those of the opposite sex all doe-eyed and gaga with delight. Booze, good food, and top-notch music—what’s not to like about the hottest party this dry side of sunny SoCal? (Nancy Powell)
Red Wine and Blues, Hosted by the Redlands Rotary Club, University of Redlands Orton Center, 1200 E. Colton Ave., Redlands, www.redwineandblues.com. Saturday, Jan. 26, 5PM–8PM; Tickets $50, (909) 798-0953
