Second Annual Sin City

Valentine’s Day has come and gone—women desperately try to burn off the chocolate they happily consumed, and roses wilt in vases. Couples can get reservations at the best restaurants again—if they have occasion to celebrate their love this soon after the hallmark holiday of heart-shaped products, or if they just want to avoid the kitchen. But flowers, chocolate and dinner at a fancy restaurant aren’t the only way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Every holiday deserves a good post-party (call it the side effects of Focolate experimentation), and the IT Family is throwing a huge one this Saturday. Better late than never, right? At Sin City in San Bernardino, glow sticks and pacifiers might be accessories of choice for those partygoers that have been around since the early days of some of the old school DJs spinning. There will be four areas of music, together offering seven different styles—house, trance, electro, drum & bass, jungle, progressive and hardcore—spun by more than 40 DJs. The line up is filled with old school DJs like Goldie, a Brit who spearheaded the jungle style leading to the now more popular drum & bass. The venue has a capacity of 5,000 people and all ages are welcome, so the attendees won’t all be ravers from the ’90s—even if some of the DJs are. So keep it old school when you get ready for this party. Break out the kik pants (if you still have some), and get ready to dance!  After all, dancing should be a staple activity of any post-Valentine’s Day celebration. (Randi Stevens)

Sin City at the Hudson Theatre and Gotham, 295 E. Caroline St., Suite A, San Bernardino, (800) 948-8192; www.itproductionsla.com. Saturday, February 23, 7PM, $30 & up. All ages.
