Looking for a great cause to get behind, while having a bite to eat and digging some live music? RA Sushi in Corona will hold its fourth annual “Nicky’s Week” fundraiser from May 25-31. If you order from select items on the menu, such as the tootsy maki (pictured), edamame, pork gyoza, FIJI Water, Red Bull, and other select beverages, 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The fundraiser was developed in memory of Nicholas “Nicky” Milliard, nephew of one of RA Sushi’s founders, Rich Howland, and a St. Jude patient. RA started the fundraiser not only in remembrance of Nicky, but to also garner attention to the extraordinary care and support that St. Jude provides to families at no cost (developing treatment and cures for diseases such as brain tumors, leukemia, sickle cell disease, and other life-threatening illnesses). Since 2005, RA has raised over $250,000 for St. Jude and plan on raising $100,000 this year throughout its 19 locations nationwide.
Best part is that RA Sushi is one of the best sushi joints in town. It’s a trendy hotspot that has not only great sushi and sashimi, but also 12 different varieties of sake, a worldwide assortment of beers and a wide selection of wines. Hang out with Orange County’s own We Are the Arsenal, who will play a concert at the Dos Lagos Amphitheatre in conjunction with the event, along with All The Rage and The Premiere. (Daniel Torres)
