With airline tickets costing a fortune and gas prices escalating far beyond our collective comprehensions, traveling this summer may seem like an extravagance best left for a more prosperous time. Well, we’ve decided to lop the airplane out of the equation and focus on resorts, inns, cottages, lodges and places of interest within a 300-mile radius of Riverside—places you can reach on a single tank of gas—to at least give you an easier option this summer. The following destinations we’ve unearthed are in familiar places, but we take a closer look at what these places have to offer, from right in the center of the IE (Riverside) to San Diego, to Joshua Tree and Las Vegas, to Santa Barbara and Solvang and the OC, we’ve let proximity speak to your adventurous sides.
