The Riverside Art Museum has been the crown jewel of the city’s cultural index for over 50 years, even before it housed itself in the former YWCA building, a historical landmark. Both praised and chided for courting controversy, or sometimes not courting it enough, the RAM remains a mandatory destination for residents and out-of-towners alike, a place where you can easily let a couple of hours slip away as you immerse yourself in creative expression. That can’t be said of every museum in the area. (Kevin Ausmus)
