Best Country Club

Posted October 9, 2008 in Feature Story

The year 1896 introduced many new things: the first modern Olympic Games, the first Dow Jones report, the “separate but equal” doctrine, and the Redlands Country Club. Perhaps the club’s continuing popularity is owed to its adherence of standards, which includes a dress code and the 86-ing of cell phones in the clubhouse which, it should be noted, is in its fourth incarnation. Could Teddy Roosevelt have predicted such grand progress? (Kevin Ausmus)
