Best New Addition to the Claremont Village

Posted October 9, 2008 in Feature Story

What better way to commemorate an evening of bacchanalian excess than with a burning penis or itchy mound? The IE offers lots of surefire avenues for coming down with the latest gonorrheal or chlamydia strain, but we see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to share a love bug in style. Claremont now has its very own Herpes Triangle! In case you’re unfamiliar, Herpes Triangle West was a trio of Burbank locales (two are now defunct) that the newly hooked-up would traverse on their path toward catching a nasty STD: Dinner at the Outback Steakhouse, dancing at the nearby Black Angus Steakhouse, and some late-night boot-knocking at the Holiday Inn just a short walk away. Now beautiful Claremont Village has come up with Herpes Triangle East, centered around the city’s new Packing House mall (532 W. First St.). The fun begins with an intimate dinner for two at one of the Packing House’s Forks Chop House. Our lovers then move on to some serious imbibing at the Packing House Wine Merchants wine bar, just to get those juices flowing. And it all comes to a boiling point at the recently opened Casa 425 boutique hotel (425 W. First St.) just across the way. Give it a shot: You’ll wake up refreshed, invigorated and on a short countdown to visiting a free clinic. (David Silva)
