Best Place in Riverside to Hook Up with Some Euro Trash

Posted October 9, 2008 in Feature Story

We’re not quite sure why, but there’s something about the Yard House restaurants that attracts European tourists like a gallon of French pate. Perhaps it’s the sleek “We’re so much more than you’re average chain restaurant” decor, or all that imported beer on tap (reputedly the largest selection of draft brews in the world). Or maybe it’s those delicious iceberg wedge salads. Whatever the reason, if you’re into foreign accents dolled up in expensive but hideously accessorized outfits, the recently opened Yard House in the Galleria at Tyler (3775 Tyler Street, Riverside) is the place to go. Just show up any time on a Friday or Saturday night after 8PM and find yourself a spot at the restaurant’s bar. You can’t miss it: the bar in itself is big enough to have its own street address. Order a drink and just look American, and they’ll come to you. Be prepared, though: It really helps to know how to say, “I’m sorry, but I’m just not into faux leather” in German. (David Silva)
