Best Public Park

Posted October 9, 2008 in Feature Story

If Fairmount Park, one of the truly beautiful and peaceful oases in the IE, reminds one of a mini-Central Park, take note that both were designed by the famed architect Frederick Law Olmstead. With three lakes, fishing, golf, lawn bowling, lotuses, the Famous Water Buffalo tank and those irrepressible and very loud ducks, Fairmount is a place to picnic, sneak kisses in the parking lot or lay on the grass and dream. That is, for those of you who remember how to idle. (Kevin Ausmus)
