Pain is the name of the game as thousands roll in to witness the largest exposition of fresh off the flesh art. As the three-day Body Art Expo makes its way to the Pomona Fairplex, it does so with some surprises up it’s inked sleeves. While Warren G regulates the main stage along with Mack 10 and Tattoo from Power 106’s “Big Boy’s Neighborhood,” expo-goers will enjoy a trifecta weekend of being poked, pierced and pricked. With over 200 top artists assembled for this subcutaneous soiree, guests will have an impressive array of pricks and holes to choose from for this Pain Olympics. With droves of pre-LA Ink loyalists, on-site tattooing and extreme body art the order of the day, being stuck with a needle has never felt more like a theme park attraction. Get in line, wait your turn and count your blessings, because its mind over matter when it comes to looking like Travis Barker’s leg. Once you’ve completed the work on your ribs, walk over to the Human Suspension performance, where you’ll feel like chump for cringing or groaning because that utterly sick stunt looks like it hurts. To give your stomach a little break, the Miss Body Art Expo Beauty Pageant will serve as a sight for sore eyes (and limbs). After you’re done enjoying our annual Tattoo Issue (That’s why you’re reading this, right?) and you’ve gotten hungry for some fresh ink—be it sleeve or tramp stamp—this is where you want to be.
