Summer can’t last forever, right? Soon, students of all levels will trade in their worry-free sunny days of leisure, for arduous days of hitting the books. It’s back to class, and work for most, but one can’t help but feel the need for one last music festival. Well, get ready to have one last shot at truly enjoying what’s left of your vacation as the Epicenter Music Festival ’09 makes its debut for fans at the Pomona Fairplex this Saturday. This 12-hour event starts in the early afternoon, features two stages and headliners Tool, along with Linkin Park, Alice in Chains, Wolfmother and 10 additional acts including Aesop Rock, Atmosphere, Atreyu, Hollywood Undead and others. Self-dubbed “So Cal’s Rock Explosion,” this newly-minted event is made a bit more special, exclusive show by the fact that this fest will be the only North American performance this year by the rap-rock Hybrid Theory boys in Linkin. Be sure to save your beer money this event, as it will be perhaps your last chance to soak in the sun and party at an all-day outdoor concert. Thought you couldn’t squeeze in another summer music fest before classes start? Let Maynard, Chester and the rest of the boys show you how.
