Hope Reigns Welcome Luncheon

Posted October 15, 2009 in

Call it the slapshot heard round the world. The Ontario Reign season is about to heat up (or is it cool down?) and if you just can’t wait for game day coming up, organizers for the Hope Reigns Foundation—the nonprofit arm of the hockey team—have put together the inaugural Hope Reigns Welcome Luncheon for Monday at the Citizens Business Bank Arena to celebrate the start of the 2009-2010 season with all the requisite fanfare. All the players—including Nova Scotia native David Walker who was voted the Weekly’s “Best Reign Hockey Player” in our annual Best of IE issue last week (you did pick up a copy, right?)—and coaches are scheduled to be there. You know people are gonna be hyped as the team will have just returned from a road trip from Bakersfield (having clobbered some Condor butt no doubt!) and closed down a season ticket holder party at the Lake Elsinore Storm Stadium. Opening night is Oct. 30 with Ontario’s Finest taking on the Las Vegas Wranglers (Tickets start at $12? Buy a handful before they come to their senses!), but get a taste of the rink beforehand with this cool nooner. Food, fun and player meet-and-greets—who says the IE doesn’t give a puck?

Hope Reigns Welcome Luncheon at the Citizens Business Bank Arena, 4000 E. Ontario Pkwy, Ontario, (909) 941-7821 (Reign), www.cbbankarena.com, www.ontarioreign.com. Mon, Oct. 19, noon-2PM. $75 (person), $600 (table).
