Taking some time out from frolicking in the sand with train-wreck single mothers, Bret Michaels has embarked on his Roses & Thorns tour. He will be making a stop stateline on Saturday to perform an intimate performance with his guitar and bandana. The Poison frontman has been spending his days lately clawing out from the depths of Rock of Love obscurity, promoting like it’s nobody’s business. He did the Regis and Kelly show, Ryan Seacrest’s morning radio show and The Joy Behar Show. He recently released a single with tween icon Miley Cyrus titled “Nothing To Lose—can we say “crossover.” He’s also appearing on Celebrity Apprentice 3 as well, with the likes of Cyndi Lauper and Sharon Osbourne. While it may seem like a waste of television, Michaels is actually competing to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. Michaels has endured a lifelong battle with the disease, and he is doing the show to raise cash and awareness. He’s also getting prepared to release a new solo album entitled Custom Built (no it’s not named after some of the contestants of Rock of Love) later this year. Bret Michaels’ new-school fans will get a taste of his musical talent. Your mother will be busy rocking out to a cowboy’s sad, sad song.
