Billy Idol

Posted August 5, 2010 in

If you’ve ever been caught in the shower signing “Mony Mony,” or “White Wedding,” Pechanga has a show lined up that’s made especially for you. Billy Idol, the rock ‘n’ roller that doesn’t seem to have an expiration date, will perform with his long-time guitarist, Steve Stevens, for two nights at the casino. Infused with enough Anglo bravado to last a lifetime, Billy rocks on at 54 years old (and, if you can believe it, his hair isn’t any whiter than it was in the ’80s). Although the music scene has definitely metamorphosed over the years, the tunes that built Billy’s celebrity are still very much popular by today’s standards. Though he originally set out to create a punk rock career, he found a niche in music, not entirely punk nor rock, that continues to garner an immensely diverse audience. So whether you’re middle-aged and want an excuse to dust off that leather jacket, or a youngin who’s ready to rebelliously yell, “more more more,” this show will definitely be the time to rock the nearest cradle of love.

Billy Idol at Pechanga Resort and Casino, 45000 Pechanga Pkwy., Temecula,, Aug. 11,13. 8PM. $60-$95.
