ASA World Championships of Freestyle Motocross

A battle of epic proportions is coming to the Inland Empire—the gods of All Things Extreme will descend upon the Fairplex in Pomona to shock and awe us with the immortal glory that are the ASA World Championships of Freestyle Motocross. So, place your bets as fans and competitors alike anxiously wait to see if defending champion Mike Mason will be able to out-trick, out-perform and out-smart four-time world champion Nate “The Destroyer” Adams, two-time world champion Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg and all the other top pros from the sport that put Murrieta and Temecula on the map. With this level of competition, anyone can take the title; even one minor mishap or technical difficulty will be the difference between the world champion—and some schmuck wearing a helmet. Either way, this is one hell of a main attraction to kick off the L.A. County Fair, which is already a magnet for assorted adrenaline junkies, sports enthusiasts and tatted up freaks of nature. Rev up, boys. This is where can-canning, whipping and back flipping separates the men from some pulpy mess in the dirt.

8th Annual ASA World Championships of Freestyle Motocross at the Fairplex, 1101 W. McKinley Ave., Pomona, (909) 623-3111;, Sat, Sept. 4, 7:30PM. $18.50-$22.50. All ages.
