California Beer Festival

Not all of us can be snooty wine connoisseurs, turning up our noses and driving through wine country like we were Paul Giamatti in Sideways. But on Saturday, you can visit the California Beer Festival in Claremont, sampling beers from breweries like the Anacapa Brewing Company and San Diego’s Stone Brewing Co., to say nothing of the CBF’s very own signature brews. For any teetotalers that still wish to have a good time, the California Beer Festival also serves alcohol-free live music, with artists like Rey Fresco, Orlando Napier, The Dogs and the Blue Baron Band getting those in attendance potentially tipsy off of good vibes alone. For those planning on sampling the many fine concoctions on tap, convenient discounted cab rides are being offered by the Yellow Cab Co., not to mention special room rates for a stay at Claremont’s nearby DoubleTree Hotel, so if you plan on drinking, remember to do so responsibly, and stay thirsty, my friends.

California Beer Festival at Claremont’s The Village (1st Street at Indian Hill Boulevard), (805) 765-4294; Sat, Oct. 16. 12:30PM-5PM.
