Sublime with Rome

Dust off your old copies of 40 oz. to Freedom and get ready to party like it’s summertime in the LBC as Sublime with Rome comes to Highland’s San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino tonight. Remember kids, this might look, feel and smell like Sublime, but some parties (read: lawyers) would like to remind you that this is not Sublime; threats of legal action from the estate of the late Bradley Nowell put an end to any hopes the trio (comprised of original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh and new vocalist/guitarist Rome Ramirez) might have had regarding using the name, hence the revised moniker. Nonetheless, the outfit assuredly packs the same upbeat punch the original ska-punk-reggae outfit was known for with songs like “Date Rape” and “What I Got.” This KROQ-presented concert also features Orange County reggae rockers The Dirty Heads; in fact, one of the ‘Heads more recent singles, “Lay Me Down,” features Ramirez himself on guest vocals. So whether you’re an old school “Santeria” fan or a new era Dirty Heads fanatic, this show should feature some of the best grooves around. Dub style!

Sublime with Rome w/Dirty Heads at San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino, 777 San Manuel Blvd, Highland, (800) 359-2464; www.sanmanuel.com,. www.sublimewithrome.com. Thurs, Nov. 4. 8PM.
