Whether he’s portraying Day-Day Jones, taking over for Martin Lawrence as Boog, or directing a documentary, Mike Epps will always remain in the eyes of many as an endearing comedian. Epps began performing stand-up as a teenager in his hometown of Indianapolis; he then relocated to Atlanta for a gig at the Comedy Act Theater before moving to New York City to star in Def Comedy Jam in 1995. His career rose when he was asked by Ice Cube to try out for the part of Day-Day Jones in Next Friday, a part which he landed after weeks of auditions. He went on to support Jamie Foxx in Bait and had a feature role in How High along side Method Man and Redman. Needless to say over the years, Epps has developed a long acting resume on television and the big screen. Epps returns to his roots for a three-day stint at the Ontario Improv this weekend.
