It’s summer and while a lot of people will be hitting the beaches, many of us will be stuck at work or, better yet, cooped up in a stuffy classroom for summer school. At Cal State San Bernardino, students began classes last week. In light of summer courses being in session, CSUSB is hosting its annual Wednesday summer concert series beginning this week. So even if you’re stuck on campus this summer at least on Wednesdays there’s a little music to get you movin‘. This year’s series opens with funk band Bern. The 12-piece group led by drummer Bernie Dresel will perform its jazz, pop, funk music on June 29. The Latin Society also returns for its 42nd year performing in the IE. Swing band Phat Cat Swinger and OC-based tribute band Desperado will make appearances as well. And The Tornadoes, Redlands-based band, will bring its surf-rock sound to campus. The group is best known of its single “Bustin Surfboards,” which was included on the Pulp Fiction soundtrack.

Summer Concert Series at the Lower Commons Patio at CSUSB, 5500 University Pkwy., San Bernardino, (909) 537-5000; arena.csusb.edu/CSUSB_SWS_FLYER.pdf. Wed, June 29. 7PM.

Please post the schedule for the Wednesday Summer Concert Series. I want to tell some friends what is playing and I have searched for the schedule with no luck.
