Beer is one of those things not everyone understands and yet so many people just love. Whether it’s a hot sunny day in the IE or one of those randomly cold and rainy afternoons we’ve been getting so much of this year, a nice frosty brew always hits the spot. Sure, there’s Coors and Bud, Corona and Tecate, Pabst and even Natty Lite, but the gem of beers comes from local breweries, and there’s none like Hangar 24 in Redlands. Built in an old hangar, Ben Cook established his brewery three years ago. And each year Cook and friends celebrate the birth of Hangar 24 with live entertainment and a special cast of suds. This year’s celebration will include performances by Kelly McGuire and The Sedans. While over 20 beers are readily available for Saturday, each anniversary celebration features a special ale brewed for the occasion. The first anniversary featured the Imperial Blood Orange Wheat, followed by the second year’s Belgian Caramel Apple. Only time will tell what Cook has in store for Hangar’s third anniversary.

Third Anniversary Celebration at Hangar 24 Craft Brewery, 1710 Sessums Dr., Redlands, (909) 389-1400; www.hangar24brewery.com. Sat, June 11. 12PM-7PM.
