The CCAA Museum is exhibiting “A Wish: Unju Temple,” a whimsical collection of photographs shot by Hyun-Sook Lee, a documentary photographer and member of the California Photographers Society. Lee, who graduated from the School of Arts, Chung-Ang University, Korea, with a masters degree in photography, whisks you away with black and white photographs capturing the mysterious and serene essence of pagodas and Buddhist statues nestled in the natural surroundings of Cheonbul Mountain. Lee’s photographs highlight the idea of “the wish” by showing the “heavenly paradise” she says many Buddhist followers visit to wish upon their dreams. She also looks at the deeper meaning behind religion by discussing her own take on the Buddhist ideal. CCAA Museum is featuring a special reception Sunday July 17.

“A Wish: Unju Temple” at CCAA Museum of Art, 12467 Baseline Rd., Rancho Cucamonga, (909) 463-3733; www.ccaamuseum.org. Through Aug. 7.
