Queens of the Stone Age

Josh Homme and gang have yet to release a new album since 2007 but Queens of the Stone Age are still at it with an upcoming performance at the Fox Pomona. The guys from Palm Desert have been touring the world and setting up shows with Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. And the band’s self-titled debut album was recently reissued. The debut album offered up trance-like tunes that often begged for interruption or a track change. The reissue on Homme’s own label (Rekords Rekords) boasts three additional b-sides—“The Bronze,” “These Aren’t The Droids You’re Looking For” and “Spiders and Winegaroons”—worked right into the track listing. The album that started it all only got better. And QOTSA can only sound sick, sick, sick live.

Queens of the Stone Age at Fox Pomona, 303 S. Garey Ave (877) 283-6976; www.foxpomona.com. Mon, July 25. 7PM. $38.50.
