Deck the halls with Mary Schulps‘ Christmas macabre as she displays a wonderful array of handmade ceramic sculptures. With a master’s degree in fine arts, Schulps artistic ability reaches beyond more than just a measly bowl found at Pottery Barn. Her exquisite figural anamorphic forms—notoriously equipped with skeleton heads and bunny ears—reveal her new wave approach to making art as she combines science and brashness to make landmark creations of her own. Since 1995, Schulps has been taking ceramics into an innovative direction. Her Christmas show “Santaland” serves as no surprise to the wandering eye.

“Santaland” at Bunny Gunner Gallery, 266 W. Second St., Pomona, (909) 868-2808; www.pomonaartscolony.com.
