If you’ve been paying attention in Claremont and Upland, you’ve probably already heard some of Patrick Carrico and The Back Alley Voodoo’s tunes. From “Bottles of Beer” to “True Romance,” Carrico and gang have experienced and crooned about it all. In true swamp rock form, Carrico evokes the essence of the Deep South blending it with a little rockabilly. Currently hailing Covina, Carrico cites influences from across the rock board: The Doors, David Bowie, Dwight Yoakam, ZZ Top and more. Recently he took some time off to work on a new album, but will be making a stop in Upland this week at a venue very familiar to the band. If you’ve yet to catch him live, there’s no better place then the cozy artsy space of The Wire.
Patrick Carrico with Just Genetics and Taylor Collins at The Wire, 247 N. 2nd Ave., Upland, (909) 985-9466; www.thewire247.com. 7PM.
