Palm Springs will host its first annual beer conclave on March 24 to benefit the Rotary Club of Palm Springs. Cliff Young, host of KVCR TV’s Out to Eat and Quest for the Best and “Minister of Cultural Awareness,” will emcee the event, which includes a variety of beers from brewers such as Firestone, Karl Strauss, Stone Brewing Company and the Inland Empire’s own Hangar 24 and Inland Empire Brewing Company. A series of live musical performances from local bands will occur throughout the day. One of the highlights of the Conclave is the homebrew location. So if you have any homemade beer sitting in your bathtub, you will have until March 20 to drop off a sample for the Conclave judges.  The homebrew winner will be announced at 4 p.m. at the event. Pets on leashes are welcome to attend, but children are not. So, get your tickets now. VIP admission—which includes a souvenir glass, special tasting area with rotating beers and other swag—will also be available. (J. V. Gatewood)

Spa Resort Casino, Downtown Palm Springs, 401 E. Amado Rd., Palm Springs; 11am-5pm. $30-$50.
