MoVintage909.com Launch Party
By Joe Martone
This weekend is the place to find common ground at—you guessed it!—The Common Ground at The Vibe in Riverside. Everyone who is anyone is coming together to celebrate the launch of clothing line MoVintage’s brand new website. It’s all coming together for this night: local musicians Pheo, Faimkills, Mickey Taylor and VCR Monster are set to give the performances of their lives, and they only have DJs C’est La Vie, Calligraphy and special guest—straight from this past Coachella—Jimbo Jenkins to make sure that the pure awesomeness of this night does not end. Of course, we knew this night was going to be amazing the minute we saw who was hosting. Leading the night is our old favorite Noa James, working with Curtiss King. Loyal readers will remember Noa, voted our “Best Rapper” back in 2010, as the self made man from San Berdoo. He’s been in the game since he was 13, and paid his dues (sorry, couldn’t resist the wordplay) last year at the Paid Dues Independent Hip Hop Festival which solidified his status as a hometown hero. You know a night like this cannot be missed. Be there for history in the making, or at the very least be there because everyone else will.
The Vibe, 1805 University Ave. Riverside; www.bricktoyaface.com; $5, 8pm-1am.
