Ladies Choice

In an age of Snooki and Kathy Griffin, reality TV is in some desperate need of some positive female role models. Luckily, a pair of healthy, kick-ass substitutes have been found. The Oprah Winfrey Network is releasing a brand new show called Lives on Fire on June 8, focusing on the daily doings of Riverside County locals Diley Greiser and Nica Vasquez. Greiser is a 42-year-old paramedic, Vasquez is a 40-year-old fire apparatus engineer (translation: a driving firefighter who leads her own team), and both of them are ready to take on the world. The show will detail the lives of these ladies in action, following them while on duty saving lives and at their respective homes being mothers. While it makes sense that Oprah Winfrey would be the one to find a pair of borderline superheroes who just happen to be women, one can only hope that the show is far more entertaining than her other regrettable projects with The Dr. Oz Show and Dr. Phil.
