For the Record: Quentin Tarantino Soundtracks

There are many things I’ve learned exclusively from the Big Screen. Pulp Fiction taught me that of I bring an OD-ing b@!*h over to someone’s house, then I’d have to give her the shot. It also taught me to respect my peers. Kill Bill 1 and 2 showed me that if I were to get pregnant and shot by the same man on my wedding day to another man, things can still turn out alright for me (or will it? Vol. 3 anyone?). Plus there was that whole thing with the five-finger death punch. And well, Reservoir Dogs pretty much showed me how not to steal diamonds and that maybe, just maybe I won’t tip my waitress—pink is one my favorite colors. And each time I watch these movies, I feel as if I become closer to being the human being I want to be—er at least I’m entertained for a few good hours. So why sit at home when I can enjoy a cocktail at Ace Hotel and relive all my Tarantino favorites? Too bad they don’t have milkshakes there. I’d pay $5.

Ace Hotel, 701 E. Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, 760-325-9900; www.acehotel.com. 8pm. $20.
