Los Angeles World Guitar Show
By Derek Obregon
I bet if I said you could turn your drums into a mandolin you would say I was crazy, and most of the time you would be right. But not if you go to the Los Angeles World Guitar Show on July 21! This is a one-of-a-kind event where people can bring in any type of instrument they have to buy, sell or trade it. Come in with a Gibson Les Paul and leave with a Fender Stratocaster. Have your great granddad’s old bass guitar appraised by an expert and, who knows, you might be sitting on Sir Paul McCartney’s infamous Hofner. If that turns out to be the case, sell it to that appraiser or shop around for the highest bidding exhibitor . . . if you can be patient and keep your game face on. There is no telling what kind of instruments will show up, and there could be anything from banjos to bagpipes to recording equipment and even music memorabilia. Even if you don’t play an instrument, you can still go star searching because celebrities have been known to attend the event as well. You never know who you might run into, and I know you would rather be in that picture with a celebrity than read about it on Facebook!
