It is a universal truth that everyone loves food. Nothing brings everyone together like a good meal. Now you can feast like a king (or an incredibly lucky overweight child) with the Upland YMCA next month as it prepares a feast for the senses. Okay, it’s not a feast in the most literal sense of the word. It just booked over 50 different kinds of eateries including local restaurants of every nationality, wineries from all over California, and . . . okay, we take it back: This is totally a feast. After you’ve gorged yourself, the YMCA has developed an incredible method for you to lose weight by lightening your wallet. The evening include an auction that includes prizes like condos on the shore, a private night with your own personal chef, various vacations, and so much more that it becomes a little bit ridiculous. The catch? $95 a ticket. The bonus? You’re doing it all for charity! The proceeds go toward scholarships and helping low-income families. More than worth the price of admission.

Scheu Family YMCA of Upland, 1150 E. Foothill Blvd., Upland, (909) 946-6120; www.weymca.org/upland. 6:30pm. $95 per person, $750 for a table of eight.
