Calling all fans of psychobilly . . . dust off those Doc Martens and get the gel ready, Tiger Army is coming to the IE. Don’t be intimidated if you’ve never seen or heard of it before, just know that if you’re looking for a good time and you want to meet some cool people, this is the show for you. Get the textbook musical lesson on how psychobilly was meant to be heard by the band that’s been going strong for over 15 years. Let the intoxicatingly fast and feel-good music brighten up your day as the triumphant lyrics meld with a bit of dark romance for that oh-so-perfect combination. One important thing to remember about any type of show that claims to be psychobilly or rockabilly is that if the bass player doesn’t play a bulky standup bass, just walk away because it is not a real psychobilly show. That being said, there’s no need to worry about running into that problem here. If you’re looking to further your education about the psychobilly scene, just look for the person rocking Tiger Army’s “TigerBat” tattoo (there’s bound to be at least one in the audience with it) and you’ll be rocking the pompadour and vintage look in no time. And always remember . . . tattoos are encouraged but not required.
