The case of an alleged “maternity hotel” in Chino Hills hit the blogosphere this week—so much so that Next Media Animation—those crazy CGI animators from Taiwan who love riffing off of current events. Local residents are protesting a home that they claim is catering to pregnant women from China who want their children born in the U.S. to become citizens . . . and potentially bring over their other relatives as well, according to The Press-Enterprise
. While the city officials have issued a cease-and-desist order, they are also tackling the “hotel” for code enforcement issues. If in fact “birth tourism” is taking place in Chino Hills, it’s totally legal . . . as long as the mothers obtain the appropriate tourist visa. Meanwhile, protesters continue to wave their “No More Anchor Babies” signs. Isn’t birth supposed to be a miracle?
