Nitty Gritty Fest 2013

Plenty of blood, gallons of sweat and maybe a tear or two

Posted July 29, 2013 in Events

The pulse of IE hardcore reigned supreme for over 12 hours at Rancho Cucamonga’s Calvary Chapel by day, and Nitty Gritty venue by night. 16 bands, two stages and hundreds of eager participants made this event one for the books. Taking the route of traditional hardcore procedures over contemporary safety measures, attendees were welcomed to share the mic, the stage and quite a bit of (no exaggeration here) sweat and blood with their favorite bands. The Nitty Gritty–located near Archibald and Arrow–has housed some of the most renowned shows to hit the Inland Empire, and acted as a house venue for some of the IE’s most beloved bands including Suicide Silence, Impending Doom and headliner of Nitty Gritty Fest 2013, Redland’s own Sleeping Giant. Other acts to grace the stage include Riverside’s No Bragging Rights and Darasuum, as well as Los Angeles’ Rotting Out and Dynasty. No explanation or photos could have captured the energy felt at the fest, but you better believe we tried. Keep your eyes wide and ears open for talk of a Nitty Gritty Fest 2014!
