The bar has been at the corner of Hamner and 6th Street for years; it’s just a small joint with a staple horse corral outside (no doubt influenced by the city’s animal-friendly nature). It’s small but cozy, armed with plenty of pool tables, a stage for live music on the weekends and plenty of libations to go around.
Maverick’s tacos are simple, inexpensive and delicious. Unlike corn tortillas used for your average “street tacos,” these babies are much larger and packed with crispy lettuce, shredded cheese and tomatoes. Chicken is my go-to choice of meat, and the poultry in these tacos are always presented with a juicy satiation (although they do have steak and fish as well).
Enjoy a night out at this comfy little bar with a pair of tacos at your side.
