Corona Farmers Market
By Ashley Bennett
There are plenty of early-morning farmers markets in the IE, many of which gravitate towards the northern portion of the area. Towards the south, cities such as Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Corona and to an extent, Lake Elsinore, have less markets to cover a much wider territory. Fortunately for those who reside in that portion of the IE, there’s a pretty great farmers market to check out.
Occurring weekly in the shopping center that once held a Mervyns (remember those?), the Corona Farmers Market has a large assortment of vendors who, every Saturday morning, bring their best wares.
Sadly the week I attended there weren’t any specialty foods, aside from your average fried donuts and hummus, but the market offers an amazing assortment of fruit and vegetables on a regular basis. What better way to eat organic, locally grown foods than to buy it straight from the seller? Rumor has it that one local egg and produce farmer even invites his customers to check out his farm from time to time, just to show them how truly local his products are. True story!
Every Sat, 8:30am-12:30pm. Corona Farmers Market, 420 N. Main St., Corona, (951) 736-2260; www.innercirclecorona.com.
